Wheelchair access is indeed a problem- but here in liberal California, I'm very impressed with Sidewalk access. It's imperfect, of course, but much retrofitting has been done.

I don't see how anyone could not see tremendous improvement in this area though. The ADA is magnificent. This is relatively new, and, of course, expensive. But guess who regularly complains about it? I'll give you a hint- it is NOT the pinkos.

The phrase about the wheelchair did hit close to home. My mom was confined to one for 17 years after she suffered a massive stroke in 1976.It was not easy taking care of her, but a sweeter Mom there will never be. She passed in
april 1993 ,16 months after my Dad died. These are the times that try a man's soul.
