grinder- looks like Dr Jacobs is being proven right day by day. But don't expect any defections in Europe.
The IPR position is too important to NOK/Finland and the EU needs Finlands vote so in regard to wireless issues that concern NOK the EU will do what Fnland (NOK) asks and in turn Finlad votes whatever the EU bosses tell it to vote.
The person who pays royalties is today the slave, he is the servant of the IPR owner. The Europeans don't want to own up to being servants to Dr Jacobs.

The Finss have no choice. I don't blame them. Without NOK they are bust and their short lived propserity will dissapear like the mist under the morning sun.

I feel very sorry for them because sooner or later the rest of the World will not necessarly want to suffer in order to keep providing the Finns with the standard of living that they enjoyed when GSM was in its hey day.

Surely as time goes on this year, although things may get delayed even up to a year, CDMA 1X is going to get going in Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexcio, Brazil and when it does it is going to make life very very difficult for GSM operators. I have never conceived that happening at the same time that GPRS handsets might be unavailable because they simply could not be produced to a working standard, that never crossed my mind. But if that happens the ond boggles as to whether a W-CDMA phone could be produced to a saleable consumer standard and then what in Japan and DoCoMo.

Surely DoComo KNOW they can get handsets .......son't they???? And for Mat or Arpil is this?

Best regards,

L
