I loved it so much I worked as a hotwalker at Aqueduct for a summer. Seven days a week and I had to be there at 6:00 AM. I went by bus every morning. In the afternoons, I would sneak onto one of the trucks that was taking horses over to Belmont to race. I rode in the back with the horses. I'd catch the double, and then hitch a ride back to Aqueduct in time for the afternoon watering and feeding. That was the greatest period of racing of my lifetime. Forego, Seattle Slew, Affirmed, Alydar, and Spectacular Bid. Unbeliveable! Wayne
