Yogi;
<<Compaq and Dell still strong in Asia?>>

I don't have the numbers but it is pretty common knowledge that they are the strongest. Interesting that Gateway announced a major effort to beef up Asian sales a few weeks ago. Even Sony has come to town but if I ever buy a Sony computer again you have my permission to shoot me. Worst service org I have ever encountered...bar none.

I would expect that marketing will heat up here. Thats fine with me, probably means lower prices still.

Best,
Stitch

>> I guess the bottom line is that it is real easy to be negative about the pc sector and disk drives at this point in time... almost as easy as it was to be positive about the dot coms in Feb '00
<<

It was insane to be positive on the dot.coms in Feb 00, and it would be more insane to bet against the storage sector (including disk drives) now.

Disk drive prices have been firm for the past 4 months. And now with seagate gone private, the supply will only get tighter, while demand continues to increase.
