I used it all last week, but it may not be
rolled out every where or that just may be
a message your getting if you haven't
registered.
As it's a default message but they seem to have got
it up ahead of time, and it won't come up
if you don't register.

If I were you I would register even if your
not going to use it right now.

Some of the comish may be that your using
limits , mrkets is what I use for speed
so I can't help you there, my mrkets
are 9.97 my after hrs are 15,
all aftr hrs are limits.
The old system was doing me at 12
on mrkts
------------------------
You may be surprised at select even with
your slower computer ..perhaps it won't
do streaming or level II
but you don't have to load them anyway;
& the trading part should work OK
as long as you can get at least
800 X 600 on your monitor.
For the most part speed is going to
be limited to your connection ( modem )
more than your computer. A 56K modem
connection is OK., slower than that I can't
say.

As I understand it, there is a higher limit order fee until you reach 10 trades per period. So your 1/2 trades may have been charged the higher rate. Equity limit orders, stop orders and stop-limit orders incur an additional $3 fee regardless of share amount. This fee will be waived after 10 qualifying equity or option trades have been executed in the same account within each calendar month.

From what I've seen, you don't have to use select to benefit from the 9.95 commission provided to those qualified for select access. But I didn't place any limit orders until after exceeding the 10 qualifying orders for the month (a fluke, certainly not by design)
