You indeed could be right. The issue of equal access does have it's downside. If the FTC doesn't let carriers recoup cost of deployment by giving them a time-market advantage then broadband access will be slow to go... in any form. Of course the HFC/cable infrastructure would have the advantage in this case.

You, ( as we all know you work for Siemens wireless) declared
PR war against fixed connections, including optical....
As for DSL, recent data from big guys like SBC,VZ,Bell South
contradict your statement about DSL.
CLECs which account on 5% of DSL offering are not indicator
of DSL market.
