Dear Nadine: The LAW in florida is that we count votes by machine. I suspect that law is NOT going to be changed, nor should it. The ONLY exception to the LAW is if there is something causing MACHINE failure such as Hurricanes or something like that. Under the LAW the votes were counted AT LEAST two times. All this other BS was merely Democrat operatives ATTEMPTING to circumnavigate the law. Now it turns out even in a fair hand count BUSH STILL WON which those who followed my posts AT THE TIME know I predicted as I am fairly familiar with what was the uncounted section of Miami/Dade county. Incidentally, they just finished yesterday, can you imagin the FIX this country would have been in if it was only yesterday we knew who won the election? JDN

Nicely worded response.......my sentiments exactly!!!

My faith in this democracy and it's rule of law is eroding quickly. Several days ago I stated that sentiment on this thread and was responded to with the words," It's not a democracy, it's a republic so get over it."

Perhaps we are being set up to be governed by the rule of law that Ashcroft prefers.....that is, divine law which he has publicly stated is far superior than civil law. I sincerely hope not because this country will be torn apart if we drift in the direction of theocracy.

Further study of the situation is mandated but, as Luke said in Star Wars, " I got a real bad feeling about this!"

Cheers( I hope),
Pat

Nadine, do you have any engineering experience with statistical processes.
Did you watch any of the recounting in Broward and Palm Beach. The only reason that anyone would wonder about what was going on is that Stupid Gore chose counties run by democrats to do a recount that no one had ever thought of doing. When the recount got under way it became clear that if the rules in effect were used, a somewhat detached chad was the only one that would count then there was no way that GORE could get enough votes. So they fiddled with the rules trying to come up with an objective standart that would get Gore enough votes. Miani Dade folks in charge new based on past experience that there were not the vote and Gore had lost. They wanted to stop but got pressured from other dumb democrats and then the brain dead Florida Supreme Court had to step in.

So if one lets the folks in charge do it and don't try to create pressure because one does not like the results then gee the 2nd machine count determined who the winner was and based on the number and absent machine errors and fraud no recount was going change the result.
As an engineer I say that as an absolute mathematical certainty if and only if the Pope is a Catholic.
