JDN, off to Washington on Wednesday. Have tickets to everything except for Black Ties & Boots (still working on that). Got tickets to the Ceremony, the parade, and the Texas-Wyoming Ball. Going to do some sight-seeing, too.

The abomination that is the Clinton Presidency ends in just a few more days.

Saw Bar at a ball here in Houston on Saturday night. She was glowing, to say the least. W was here today.

JDN,

You are describing Katherine Harris' interpretation of Florida election law. If you look more closely at the wording of the statutes, you will notice that the county canvassing boards do have discretion to choose a manual recount, and the supervisor of elections does have discretion to accept the results.

I do believe that if Gore had been 300 votes ahead after the automatic recount, Katherine Harris would have interpreted the law rather differently.

As for the delays, who made the delays in the first place? If Gore had been ahead originally, the whole recount would have been done in three weeks.

Now it turns out even in a fair hand count BUSH STILL WON which those who followed my posts AT THE TIME know I predicted as I am fairly familiar with what was the uncounted section of Miami/Dade county.

JDN, are you saying that there are now confirmed media reports that Bush won the overall State of Florida recount as of the last few days. If so, please post the URLs - I would seriously like to read.

Thanks, Ken
