Oh, so you enjoy watching programs on them but not BEING in them? OK, I can understand that. It's that part where your adrenal glands have gone into EMERGENCY OVERLOAD and your stomach is trying to leave home that I don't like.

I took a couple of geology courses at college and one day I asked the professor...

"If we know there is a fault and tension will build up and ultimately result in a major earthquake, why not
have the army corp of engineers or someone like that go to the fault zone and create an explosion early on
so that it would be a more of a controlled event and a smaller quake with less damage."

He looked at me like I was completely Mad.... (well he nailed me on that -g-) and said something about
not being able to properly forecast the outcome of creating a controlled earthquake.

I imagine he's right that you can not have smaller controlled earthquakes ........ oh well....
