Well, bland hasn't "always" gained great personal satisfaction from his career, there have been rocky, uncertain times, times of boredom or frustration, but he has the good fortune to now be in the best situation of his life, with absolutely cutting edge technology, etc., so he is both happy with the present and excited about the future.
He puts in fifty to sixty hour weeks, not because there is any significant demand that he do so, but because he is motivated and interested. That makes a big difference.

And no, bland does not live in Texas. He has a sister who lives there and he does visit occasionally. He is familiar with the Dallas area (Richardson, Allen, Plano, etc.), but not much else.

...how much more meaningful one's career becomes when it's necessary to continue working. <g>

It's all in our own perceptions -- which can become so distorted with tantalizing dreams of instant, great wealth.

Very good Bonnie.

I always knew that you were not just
