You've got me confused. Basis is basis, and doesn't change.

However, with this lousy portfolio manager, one has no choice. As shown, the basis DOES change.

That's why I always start off with a basis of 100K. I then add profits back to cash, take a "photo" (and give others the op to do the same), and then reinvest.

Profits add back to basis.

Pain in the rear.
