tc,

LOL!

You know, I bought my first VCR in 1986. It was a Sharp (I believe). Darn if I didn't have that thing recording one channel while I watched another within a day or two. It's since passed on. I've had two others (still have them), one's a Sony and the other I don't remember and I'm too lazy to check. I can't get those *&$0/*s to record anything but the channel that they're tuned to. I said screw it long ago.

Also, my wife bought me an audio tape player and recorder (tape deck) last year, because my vintage 1982 model bought the farm. The new Sony tape deck had all the bells and whistles. After trying to decipher the buttons and toggle switches that did all kinds of wonderful and unnecessary things, I brought it back and got the basic...record...fast forward...rewind model.

There must be a happy medium between over-the-top geek and your everyday retro-luddite? <gg>

>>>can anyone help me program my damn VCR<<<

Are there people out there that actually program and set the clock on those things?

I have NO idea how to program mine or even set the clock. Installing new hardware and configuring it is more simple than playing with my damn VCR.

So it blinks this - - : - - and I never even notice the blinking, it's been so long.

If the blinking stopped, I think the distraction would drive me nuts.

I enjoyed reading all the comments on the "learning" thread but one question remains unanswered....can anyone help me program my damn VCR!

TC

I have 3 operating S-VCRs hooked into a 36" Sony Wega Trinitron.Kind of neat watching all 3 taping different programs simultaneously.:)
