Yeah, you don't see much discussion of Beta from Buffett. I honestly don't understand where it fits in when you take a longer term view.

FWIW, Safeway is a stock that in the past has shown up as a buy in the models I have too. I think I've actually placed a buy order that went unfilled due to my limit.

If I recall there are debt issues with Safeway that make its historicals different than alot of stocks passing the preliminary screening. I remember having to go in and tweak the automated results quite a bit due to this.

Talking about this has gotten me interested in updating the models I have. I didn't subscribe all of last year to the data because the models were really centering around a set of stocks and the pool of choices wasn't changing much from month to month. Perhaps it's time to resubscribe to the data and update things a bit.
