Dear Lost, Yes, I knew Ashcroft ran against a dead man, but I didn't realize it was recently. And Yes, I heard Mrs. Callahan from MO introduce Mr. Ashcroft to the Senate today. And to her credit, she warned the Senate that they should not judge Mr. Ashcroft on their past friendship with him. I don't believe the Senate paid the slightest bit of attention to her warning because many Senators clapped when Ashcroft appeared, and Mr. Ashcroft greeted staff members by their names, according to the evening news.
