My wife fantasizes about getting a horse (hay burner to me) because she thinks they're beautiful (from afar I might add). She's never ridden one, never cleaned a stall (nor a horse), never had one step on her foot, never paid for alfalfa or vet bills. How can I dissuade her?

That they can but you can also deal on saddles. I found a small dealer going out of business and bought a 16" saddle that listed for $1,400 for $800. Tack auctions can be fun too. To get a good saddle cheap hit the horse farm auctions. Old saddles can be refleeced.

Humm, saddle sizes. 14 for a kids, 15 for a woman, 16 for a man. Seems backwards for men and women. I mean compare butt sizes. I better stop now...
