Don't you think Ashcroft's vehement views on abortion will cause a bit of awkwardness if he does become Attorney General? Attorneys General do not make laws, they enforce them, and the law permits abortion.

I wonder if Ashcroft will let his personal opinions interfere with his responsibilities concerning, for example, attacks on legal abortion clinics and their patrons.
