Have you even read one word of what heinz and the gang have been saying? Didn't think so.

Nobody is claiming that computers dont add productivity to our economy and positives for life in general.

We are simply arguing that replacing a PIII 500Mhz cpu with a PIII 1000Mhz cpu does NOT mean that anyone using that computer has instantly doubled their productivity, and any government statistician who says they DID double their productivity has an agenda. IE, to understate inflation and keep SS benefits as low as possible.

If you need to be beaten over the head any further about this fact, then go over to the SETI@home project homepage. They cited dozens of private research reports showing that a computers CPU is idle (doing nothing) 95% of the time. The whole point of the SETI@home project is to use all that un-used CPU power to search for little green men.

If anyone really believes what they're spewing about computers having no useful impact on productivity, or life in general,
