I have a feeling SUVs will soon be looked upon as we now view the jalopies of the 60s and 70s. It's a fad about to lose fast its appeal.

I cross the continent two or three times per annum (research trips). I have never ceased to be amazed at the ability of the auto companies to market just about anything.

SUVs are simply nutso to me (and I live in the land of ice and snow). My VW Golf diesel gets super mileage and hasn't been stuck in the snow for many moons.
