Ten, Like oil, we waste at least half of the electrical consumption in the US. Common sense could alleviate Silicon Valley's problems. (Like turning off the lights, using lower powered bulbs, insulating houses, etc.) The house I lived in in CA used 2X as much energy as my house in Colorado, despite the fact that it was half the size. There was no insulation or weatherstripping, and the heater ran all the time. In Colorado, we have triple paned glass, and the heater was barely on this morning, despite sub-zero temperatures.
