Excellent point. It is the often 'kneejerk' reaction to the analysts' comments that appears to define what shareholders will do. It still bothers me that they continue to knock a stock that is already reeling. Of course sometimes the analysts' comments deal only a temporary blow before upside volume takes over again.
I watch the volume on the upside. If upside volume remains weak then it's time to exit.
