The whole decade of the '70s is about to repeat. The FED created all the problems. ALL. Not the energy problem? Guess who gunned the money supply for years under the guise of WinXXX productivity(which is collapsing) which enabled the US to engage in accelerating oil consumption so that the OPEC cut back in supply had teeth? Guess who pumped in a giant load to spare us from the the horrors of y2k which set up the stock market for a crash? FED was only trying to prop prosperity. It is a good thing, isn't it? Their purpose is to do good and they know what is good. Don't they? Now when they pump it adds to inflation more than it adds to output, so the result is business cycle with flat expectation and rising interest rate floor. That is definitely '70s.

Bilow, I see both rhyming and alliteration. Why can't history alliterate? <g>.

I feels alot like 1973-1974. Energy crunches, government attempts to shield consumers from the $ consequences of energy costs, continuing deflation of a stock market bubble that ended in 1968 (help me out here, ahaha, do I have the peak year right?), a corrupt president leaves office, an intellectually dull president steps in... The only thing that is missing is all the free love and sex of that era (which I never found by the way, did you?).
