"However, MXIM is unlikely to repeat LLTC's strong earnings report and outlook.
This because LLTC's strong results were not due to any sign of recovering business conditions, but rather because they took preventative measures to prevent inventory buildups and multiple ordering from occurring in the first place. In combination with moderate capacity constraints as the demand curve has slightly led capacity additions, they have succeeded in maintaining healthy production results an extra two quarters beyond what would otherwise be the case."
Don, why you think Mxim doesn't anticipate this and manages the way lltc did ? If I remember correctly, John Gifford warned there will be inventory build up later in the year during CC two qs ago. He's just as good as Bob, if not better, IMO. :)
