OK the way i understand it is that humid summer air, Florida style, contains 0.3% water vapor by volume. Car exhaust contains more like 10%. So the humidity contribution to total exhaust water vapor should be a few per cent.

It is my uninformed but nonetheless stubborn opinion that this makes no practical difference. Western exhausts last longer (imo!) because they are subject to less corrosive insults from the exterior: freezing temps, salt, taht kind of thing.

...A guy at work had the Honda all-electric. (The EV Plus?) Weird. It didn't sound like a car at all. My gripe with it was that it was tall, like an even more mini minivan.

I will take electrics seriously when they meet 2 conditions.
1) A single charge will take me from the Bay to Reno, in traffic.
2) CA electric power is environmentally friendlier than direct combustion of gasoline. This means NO hydro (ruins river systems), coal (gawd. Carbon dioxide by the megaton. Leave it in the ground.) or oil (more efficient to just pump it into the car!) as the electric source. This leaves ... hmmmm .... oh yeah. NUKES! Fission fission rah rah rah! Yaaaaay - TEAM!
