Since I expect that the X-box is capable of running both Terminal Server clients and within a year or two maybe also Linux, the X-box can definitely replace a PC.

No way will XBox run Linux.

Assuming that Microsoft is launching XBox as a loss leader to earn money on game title royalties, they will follow Sony's example and disallow publishing of titles that have not been approved by Microsoft. In Sony's case, the black PlayStation discs are produced by a Sony machine, and you simply can't print Sony games; you have to send an approved master to Sony. THAT's why Microsoft wants to be a game company. Total, absolute control over the software industry.

Do you honestly think that Microsoft will approve a Linux title and thereby relinquish that coveted control?
