Dang! That actually works, though I'm wondering if it might not mess up the spacing on some sites that "need" to force particular fonts.

Ed,

<< Control can be obtained by following this clickstream in IE >>

Good suggestion.

I had indeed been working that way this morning.

I've changed it back by unchecking both accessibility boxes.

As others have pointed out, however, this disrupts viewing on other well designed web sites.

I happen to include SI as a "well designed web site".

A lot of painstaking effort went into the design of the new standard sight during the beta, and I call the end result excellent (newly introduced fixing of font aside) and the design of the "Classic" site, good (newly introduced fixing of font aside).

I'm sure that there is a method to SI's madness in tampering with an excellent formula, and look forward to seeing how this plays out (with my fingers crossed.

I find the new "View 10" non-serif font preferable to the garish predecessor. but sure look forward to consistency between the alternative views.

Ed - thanks - as others have pointed out, that's a universal setting, which affects all websites visited with IE. I _do_ occasionally go outside of SI. :)

I have no problem with sites designating their own font styles and sizing, as they usually know best how their pages should look. I take the case of SI as an exception. :)
