Your simple "yes, I'm right" does not suffice for anyone other than sycophants and the willingly ignorant. You refer to Tony cryptically, and I certainly know who he is. He's not only a colorful character, but a genuine individual and one of the best traders, in terms of selection and performance, I have ever watched over time. I enjoy speaking with him from time to time. You will note - and simply, perhaps, because we both have professional trading experience - that my position is nearly the same as his with regard to the need for more strong policing of the actions of analysts and recidivist stockbrokers. But, if he was to say - as I never have seen him say - something to the effect that "ABCD (a large securities dealer) - currently trading stock XYZ - is manipulating the market," I would similarly challenge that assertion for the same reasons I say that you - and you, additionally not currently and never having been a professional - have no idea what you're talking about. Because there are far too many parts of the machine in motion that cannot be seen to represent that sort of statement as a fact . Manipulation exists, but it does not "permeate" market centers or stock exchanges in any sense. Wrongdoing indeed occurs on Wall Street, as it does in doctors offices, behind police stations, in supermarkets and in churches. You, LG, do not, and cannot - anymore than I, Tony, or anyone else - know exactly what large firms are doing in an issue merely from looking at a Level II screen. There are, as I said, too many things going on to make more than an assumption, whether based upon past experience or - as it seems to be in your case - the unwillingness to consider that you might not be omniscient. If you don't like what I say, ban me. I will not accept, and will address, statements representing certitude (perhaps misrepresenting is a better term) on issues that are - beyond wanton speculation (or parroting, both popular in the message board culture) - simply not certifiable.
