Good heavens! Heroin might be the best painkiller (wouldn't know), but it is also one of the best killers!

GZ,

The real leap in logic comes from comparing prohibition to the war on drugs, in my opinion the two are apples and oranges. Whether you drink alcohol or not it is legal and most importantly socially acceptable. Alcohol is served in restaurants, bars, corporate and government functions and in most private homes around the country.

I don't know about the demojunkies but no guest in my home smokes, shoots or snorts ILLEGAL substances, in my home at least and none of my close friends use illegal drugs. I personally know 5 people who died from a heroin overdose (tough neighborhood) but not one who died from alcohol abuse, though it does happen. So again, the comparison of organized crimes explosion during prohibition and the war on drugs is ludicrous. If drugs were legalized all you would do is remove the social stigma attached to taking them.
