exercising options that may have strike prices at FRACTIONS of current value isn't anything special. I would be more impressed if Mr. Dell bought shares on the open market.

Hiam - I am, surprised that you were "fooled" by Michael Dell's recent stock transaction. He exercised options to buy instead of just dumping them as he usually does, but all he is doing is taking any gain from his 19 exercise price as cap gains instead of ordinary income. It's not like he took money out of the bank to buy those shares.
