Jill,
I'd responded to Scott before I saw yours. I was thinking the same thing--as I said, to try ATM and slightly OTM simultaneously on paper for a while to gain some familiarity. Right now, I really like the idea of buying cheap 03 LEAPS. It's like a lot of 03 strike=current stock price premiums were priced (especially 1st week in Jan) as if the market would never recover and the Internet would be dismantled before expiration. My CMGI leaps (at one point before Friday's plunge) were up over 140% from my Jan 8 purchase. CMRC leaps up 47% from Thurs to Fri.
The CC strategy sounds a bit complex for me to add too quickly, though, since I'm a novice, so I'll just simulation trade that for a while.
Thanks to everyone for all the help today.
Mino

Bland sold some in the money calls Thursday in tandem with selling puts on the same stock: TQNT Feb 40 calls (it was just over 44 at the time) and Feb 35 puts. His reasoning is that if he gets called out, the proceeds from the puts naturally enhance his take on the premium side, and if he gets put the stock, the proceeds from the call (about $8) effectively cover about 25% of the purchase price for the additional shares (net of the put premium).

Bland can live comfortably with either outcome.
