Keith, don't tell me you live in the NC mountains, too. If you do, that's awesome!!! We are in Cashiers, near Highlands NC. Yes, we moved here for all the reasons you said, including the weather and the location. Your right, you can be at the beach or in Florida in a short amount of time, and also NY or DC. It's great. Awesome season changes including great fall color and you can still play golf many days in Jan., like yesterday. Love it here. Love the west, too, but winters are milder here. Shoosh.
