<SDL Inc. Cut to `Buy' at Wit SoundView> Interesting. Just minutes ago I was looking at another Wit SoundView recommendation from Feb 25, 2000. Luminant Wrldwd LUMT Wit SoundView Strong Buy $55 Stock was 27 to 31 7/8 on 2/25/00. It went to $0.625 before bouncing to $1.50. It never visited $55 on the way. If this is the quality of Wit SoundView work, I am not concerned with what they say about SDL. William

A Month later On 6/20/00 Wit SoundView DOWNGRADED SDLI from Strong Buy to Buy. The stock was at 295 3/4. A month later the stock was UP to 442. On 10/20/00 Wit SoundView UPGRADED SDLI from Buy to Strong Buy. The stock was 339. A month later the stock was Down to 229. I thus welcome todays Downgrade from Strong Buy to Buy. It does appear these dudes can't get anything right. William

JDS Uniphase and SDL to Adjourn Special Meetings of Stockholders To February 12 WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2001 3:39:00 PM EST NEPEAN, Ontario and SAN JOSE, Jan 24, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- JDS Uniphase Corporation (Nasdaq: JDSU; TSE: JDU) and SDL, Inc. (Nasdaq: SDLI) announced today that they expect to complete the merger of the companies in February 2001 because of the time required to complete the regulatory approval process. As a result, the companies will adjourn their special meetings of stockholders currently scheduled to be reconvened at 10:00 a.m., Pacific Standard Time, January 26, 2001 to 10:00 a.m., Pacific Standard Time, February 12, 2001. JDS Uniphase has submitted to the United States Department of Justice a proposed remedy to respond to concerns raised by the Department in its Hart Scott Rodino review of the proposed merger of JDS Uniphase and SDL.
