I suspect to majority of Push/Rainbow funds are from corporations. Jesse has a certain "influence" on all those companies who don't want a Jesse press conference on the racial makeup of their BoD.

It was said that the groups protesting at the inaugeration received a total of 160 million govt funds. The way the report was phrased it seemed clear that some groups got no such funding.
