o/t Cosmo... re: "chewing" ? Ya got a problem with a little chaw do ya ? No I do NOT chew... never again. .... funny story there - lets say that I am not unfamilar with the game of baseball & back nearly 2 decades ago (doesn't seem that long) when one arrived down South for Spring Training ... and baseball was/is still very much a "Southern Game" - especially at the Minor League Level ... & coming from up North as a young man for your first early spring ... one is soon looked upon rather disparagingly & one would soon have his manhood doubted & certainly would not "fit in" - if one didn't "chew" - or at least didn't try to "chew"... I tried "once"... runnin' foul lines (windsprints) after throwing BP & accidently swallowed...just the juice, not even the wad... That was my first & last chew ...I had come from snow & temps in the lows teens from up north - arrived in Florida and it was like 90 degrees & a blazing sun - by Day 2 I was sunburned like a lobster and allready not feeling well and got talked into trying a little "chaw" - I tried allright ...and I puked for 20 minutes with dry-heaves & couldn't get the damn aftertaste out of my mouth all day, turned green, felt faint & thought I was gonna die... you couldn't of paid me to try a 2nd time - I woulda ate cow shit first... All those nasty-assed cups sittin' around & those brown stains on your uni weren't my style either...had this kid from Mississippi State that kept the same damn cup for weeks at a time - if he was hitting well - wouldn't throw his "cup" out..stunk like hell...but,baseball is a game of superstitions; he took it on the bus, hotel - everywhere... I've never liked people from Mississippi since (VBG)... the alternative to "chaw" was sunflower seeds... and all those damn sunflower seeds spit all over too - tough being an anal-retentive with all that shit all over the dugout floor - I damn near went nuts (VBG)...people either drooling chaw juice, or spittin seeds all the time; I thought they were all F'n nuts - I had to stay in the bullpen ...and learned the hard way to allways look in your cup before your drank out of it as well... The "Slido-matic" is definitely "chaw free" - "spittin distance" was just a figure of speech... but, then again; maybe it wasn't ? PS: re the Rig Party - are we waiting for a new alltime OSX high - 150 to trigger it ? - a non-holiday weekend in mid- june, late july date sounds good to me fwiw.
