Amy,<<<I would concur that Intel should not enter this business (video conferencing or camera ventures)>>>

I would go further and say that Intel should not go into any business that markets to the end user (consumer). Intel does not have inhouse capabilities to market to the consumer market and even if they were to buy into a company that had that capability, their bean counters would very quickly stifle any creativity and imagination.

Craig Barrett should face realities. He is good only at managing technical personnel. Barrett should for the time being stick to Intel's core competencies.

In the mean time, we should take our time and select a successor to Craig Barrett. The successor has to come from the outside because there is no one in house that can take Intel to the next level. We will need a Jack Welch type to come in and leverage Intel strong balance sheet and world class R&D.

I hope Craig Barrett does not have an ego problem and try to pick a weak successor.

Regards,

Mary
