more research is needed to build a fail-safe plant.

Roger, the IFR (Integral fast Reactor) was a 10-yr multi-billion dollar research and technology demonstration program which was terminated (under political pressure) just after successful demonstration of a fail-safe fast reactor which burnes its own waste at the same time produces cheap and clean energy. In the end the Europeans and Japanese benefited greatly from our research.

The technology is there and surely can be improved with renewed funding.

Regards,

Tom
