Keith: Well said! My vote is Vegas in May with AIM meetings to be on Thursday-Friday 5/17-18.

As a reference; what was the cost for our conference room last year @ NYNY? I do remember taking advantage of the group room rate that the organizing committee was able to get as well (although most felt that the rooms could have been better for the price if memory serves).

Regards, Steve

I will attend the next AIM meeting when ever and where ever it is held. For me the AIM meeting is my primary and only purpose as it was for AIM 2000. While I am not particularly enamoured with Las Vegas and in fact I would prefer almost any other venue, I will certainly attend even if it is held in Las Vegas.

Therefore please count this as a YES vote for any option.

Barry

Hi Keith,
The money show is not important nor is the location. Schedule permitting, I will attend.
Unfortunately my better half is a teacher so anything during the school year is not possible.
I do agree there should be some kind of attendance fee (preferably in advance) so we are
sure expenses will be covered.
Regards,
Scott

Hi Keith,
Don't understand why it has to be a later date in Port Washington, but I 'm cool with that. As I said before Vegas has no special attraction for me, but the AIM gathering does. Especially now, I would rather put my dollars in the market as opposed to a slot machine.

Hi Keith, The vote tabulation from email I've forwarded to Florida for ballot verification and recounts. However, of the few that were cast, one was decisive as to attending in Las Vegas, one was cast in favor of keeping it in conjunction with The Money Show and all the rest (all four) were ambivalent about location or TMS. Three stated that a visit to Wisconsin didn't trouble them. So, I can't say that my sampling has done much good in helping people make a decision.

Early May is iffy as far as weather goes in SE WI. Most often golfers are already golfing. Prices are cheap at that time of year. After May 15th most resorts in WI raise their prices and availability of large blocks of rooms become very difficult to get.

In checking further at the Osthoff, the gal said there's a Murder Mystery Dinner at the Victorian Village (about a block away from the Osthoff) that could accommodate a large group. Their performance at that time is "Murder In Las Vegas" by coincidence! So, there you have it. Come to WI and pretend you're in LV!!! :-)

I did have a passing thought that we should have our meeting very close to where I believe Mr. Lichello resides! We might be able to convince him to attend under those circumstances! :-)

Best regards, Tom

Vegas - Embassy Suite Info

Meeting rooms are $300 per day with no time limit. I believe she told me that there was a one time set up fee of $50, but I don't see any mention of it on her fax.

The suite rate is $139 (*9% Occupancy Tax).
Breakfast is included with the suite rate. Breakfast is $9 if you stay somewhere else.

There are complimentary cocktails, beverages, and light snacks two hours each evening. So that could cover a group social in the evening.

If you want lunch catered for a meeting the price ranges form $12 to $24 each depending on what you choose. You can arrange meals outside of the catering service on your own (pizza). They will set up beverages, and you pay for what you drink.

They faxed me a list of equipment that they have available for rent (they got it all). Here are some of the rates. 8' Tripod Screen = $20, Overhead Projector (dual lamp) = $25, LCD Projector (up to 1000 ANSI Lumens, 800x800) = $350, Flip Chart (Inclides one Pad and Marker) = $18. You can bring your own equipment.

They also have Complimentary hotel shuttle to the Strip and McCarran Airport.

I asked her if we could rent one of the suites and use it for a meeting room? She thought that would only work if no more than ten were involved.

To reserve the meeting room, a contract would have to be signed by February 2nd.

Henderson - Sunset Station Hotel & Casino Info

Meeting room cost is $400 per day. Coffee is $24 a gallon and donuts are $24 a dozen. Deli lunches are $12 and beverages are $2. They have equipment to rent and they charge a $45 set up fee. You can use your own equipment.

Looks like the room rate is $62 during the week with it bumping up to $129 a night starting Friday.

Summary, I have now furnished what I think is enough general and specific info as to what the associated costs would be for another AIM Convention in Vegas during the Money Show event.

Tom has furnished us with the necessary info on the Osthoff Resort on Elkhart Lake in his home state of WI.

Can someone please flip a coin and tell us where and when we are going?

TIA

Keith
