Re: Janet Reno and Ruby Ridge I generally agree with your comments but it is worth noting that innocent children died in that fiasco. The government knew that the children were in the compound and if they had to wait for hell to freeze over, they should have rather than risk the lives of those children. Little joe

" She was indeed in office during Waco and approved the seige and the conditions under which the Koresh compound burned." See my note to Little Joe.... " She was also in office when the guy with the goggles hauled Elian out of the home of his American relatives" The raid was a last resort and handled extremely well, no lives were lost and the boy was returned ot his father......the relatives were defying the law and had no intention of giving up Elian. Reno had bent over backward to mollify them. They didn't give a rat's ass about that kid, they were just trying to piss off Castro. Now let me ask you the same question I asked Little Joe.....how would you have handled it? If she had shipped him back with "wet jeans" as you say, the right wing and anti-castroites would have gone bonkers. Besides there was always the possibility that Elian's father would have chosen to stay here...he certainly had cushy offers. RE: Reno on SNL....she showed a lot of class and made her antagonists look like jerks.....Thank you Janet, for a job well done.
