Hi Khan! What century is it in Chinese years? Or don't you have centuries, just years of cats,
snakes, rats and stuff? Japan has time measured by Emperor years. Keep in mind that while you can
write what you like here, others can tell you not to and to stick to the topic! So it's a bit like Alice In
Wonderland. You can write what you like, provided it's what is approved. Approved by whom you
ask? The approving committee decides AFTER the post, whether it's approved or not and who is on
the committee.

Maurice,

I am not sure what century we are in. The Chinese used to count years by making reference to the emperor's years in power or number of years into a dynasty. In fact, Taiwan still uses "Min Guo Year xx", which makes reference to the number of years since the Nationalist took power. "Min Guo" refers to the nationalist China, which now is actually ruled by another party in Taiwan.

The rats and snake stuff is not just a simple 12 year cycle. I believe that every 5 cycles are packed together as a larger 60 year cycle, and some how there is a much bigger multiplier that makes an even larger cycle that lasts about a few thousand years. For example, last year was the year of the dragon, and based on all of the "things" that were being counted, it was something like the wickiest year in something like 3000 years.

Being a communist, I was never taught any of this stuff. The purity of such knowledge only remains in Taiwan, HK, and overseas like San Deigo. Sorry to pick on you, Ramsey, but I believe Ramsey knows this stuff much better than I do.

Just to not to go completely off topic, where does DoCoMo get the tens of billions of dollars? $10 billion here. $10 billion there. Everything will add up eventually. A couple of years ago, Microsoft bought a stake in AT&T for $5 billion so that Microsoft TV will be used on AT&T's cable network. But it never materialized into anything, and AT&T went on to sign contracts with MSFT's competitors as well. Could DoCoMo encounter the same faith? I think it will only be determined by how good iMode and WCDMA are.

Regards,

Khan
