Sure I'm trading NTAP and scalping. NTAP is moving into a nice trading range between mid 70 and mid 40's. Take notice of the stochastics peaks and valleys. Not until 25 ma crosses the 50 ma will I start to think about going or staying long.

iCAP Network Technology Submitted to Internet Standards Body

New Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (iCAP) Will Enable More Value-Added Services at the "Edge" of Networks

Sunnyvale, CA - January 24, 2001 -- The iCAP Forum, an independent industry standards organization, today announced that Version 1.3 of the iCAP specification has been submitted to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for approval. The specification will be released to the public at the iCAP showcase of new wireless, e-commerce, and security technologies to be held in San Jose on January 25th. Companies highlighting their iCAP-based solutions will include 8e6 Technologies; Everypath, Inc.; Network Appliance; Trend Micro; and Zack Network. Additionally, Hypovereins Bank, a leading German financial institution, will discuss the results of its iCAP deployment at the event.

iCAP is an open standards technology that provides, for the first time, a non-proprietary and simple scheme for Internet caching servers—some of the primary engines that run the Internet—to communicate with application and content delivery devices typically located at the "edge" of the network, closest to the user. The new iCAP protocol represents a significant step forward in reinforcing the Internet's infrastructure to support emerging wireless access devices, simplify creation of value-added services delivered from the edge of the network, and improve Internet security.

Utilizing this protocol, new access devices and value-added services can easily be added to existing systems as modules, without the need to rewrite software using the proprietary schemes that are widely employed today. For instance, initial iCAP customers estimate that new devices and services can be adapted to access Internet content within several weeks versus the four to six months necessary when using previous technologies. iCAP will provide a scalable and interoperable infrastructure to support delivery of a massive array of services at the edge of the network such as dynamic virus scanning, content filtering, human language translation, and personalized ad insertion.

The iCAP Forum will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel, San Jose. For more information, visit the iCAP Web site at i-cap.org or call (925) 287-5111.
