Hi Ze'ev, yes, I saw that post but I don't think that facility qyuite qualifies as a bona fide 300mm facility. If I'm right, it is a line expansionat one of their facilities in Japan. People in Vancouver are talking about plans to build a separate 300mm facility on their campus and that was the one I was referring to as "first production facility". Obviously, the benefits of being next door to Intels 300mm pilot and production lines in OR are many.

I can't find more than 85K to 125K/mo total available 300mm wafer production by late this year. (SEH @50K, Wacker at 20-30K, WFR @8-12K and Sumi at ??K) I'm not sure how aggressively the ramp to 300mm + 0.13 line rule is going to execute. If IDM's can quickly overcome the startup problems, the crunch will hit by Christmas this year. If not, sometime towards summer of 02. In any event, it seems likely that WFR will be left behind. SOme out of towners are returning next week and I hope to get some new data from them.
