We will need intellectual content databases and search organizations...

We need less knowledge, not more. And books work just fine in storing the particular type of plumbing that knowledge is traveling through. There's very little new under the sun. One really good idea is enough for me each year.

The good idea of the last few moments is to sell KSS. -g-

Wrong. Patents exist only to allow individuals to use the protective power of the government to prevent competition. The often used excuse for the patent office is "Well if people couldn't have 7 or 21 years to profit from their inventions, then nobody would invent anything."

Does anyone but me see how STUPID that statement is? Obviously there will ALWAYS be someone somewhere out to make a quick buck. Whether they can profit from that advantage for 5 weeks or 5 years is a moot point. The patent system slows down innovation. Just look at Rambus for gods sake, they are trying to sue everyone in the DRAM industry into oblivion using the patent courts as a hammer.

------------------------------
Intellectual content growing at an exponential rate, such that no one person can keep track of what has already been done. We will need intellectual content databases and search organizations, similar to our patent or trademark structures to avoid recreating the wheel.

There is such a thing for fictional story lines. A California based repository where writers can file their original story line concepts (in anticipation of future litigation, I'm sure.)
