Jeff, I don't study slopes, I see them.... <smile>, but don't factor that into any trades...except parabolic moves. Use forks - TP's - various fib applications - ema - bar patterns - chart patterns - trendlines - support/resistence lines - donchian breakouts - small cycle moves - probability - gann cycles - astro - intuition - ¿ Look occasionally at canned stuff like MACD,STOC,OBV,RSI,ADX But very little here is predictive and forward looking...! I've tried hard to make them work, but Nope... not consistently. Dislike most ewave performers, but May Hook up with Hahn. I've also been looking into DeMark.
