If you go to Austria, half the name sound Czech or Slovak, and big portion of names in Czechoslovakia sound German, which I guess is the legacy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Oh yes, add some Hungarian names to the mix.

Joe,

Actually, earlier, I was going to ask you if he was Czech because of the spelling of Jozef. I only said the Vienna Symphony because one time I saw them on tv or somewhere as a kid and one of the musicians was wearing a black beret.

For the first time, I saw the Unbearable Lightness of Being this past weekend, and the shots of Prague (I am pretty sure they were Prague...there was some great shots of Geneva as well)were incredible. I think the film was done in 93/94 and even though the buildings looked poorly maintained, it only added to their look.

My german friends may get married soon and I think when I go over, I will visit the Czech Republic for the first time.....there are some spa villages I want to see for their architecture.....as well as Prague.

When I was a kid, I really liked world geography and their were maybe 5 countries in the world that I was drawn to and one of them was Czechoslovakia. I always tried to imagine what it was like to live there. It will be cool to see it.
