Google remembers what the selected sites after a search were for a particular set of words, then puts the most selected site at the top of the list the next time someone uses those words or some subset thereof.

My guess would be that the perp did a person search for things like "Bush dumb" and always selected the desired site until it came to the top of the list. Then one could search for "Bush M...f...er" and always select the desired site. Next, the search would be "dumb M...f...er" and selecting the Bush site until it appears at the top of the list.

Then you publish the search criteria on the Web, and there's no getting rid of it. It will stay at the top forever unless the google people decide enough is enough and put in some code to deal appropriately with this type of prankster.

You could always try out my hypothesis by substituting Brilliant Genius for Dumb M...erF...er in each of the steps and see if it works.

Personally, I would have thought that most people would have matured beyond this nature of prank by the time they were able to use a keyboard. Wrong again.

How to nominate your favorite politician for a web award

Various sites linked to the Bush site using the words "dumb motherfucker" -- and Google assumed this was a logical association.
