I find it unlikely that they would actually remove threads which generate hits. Stupid. They would be better advised removing the people than the threads. But controversy raises the thread hit rates. You can ask anyone who tried to start one that wasn't controversial (raise your hands! ME!!! I'm raising mine! ). I tried to start one where people could share their animal stories. Our Animal Friends. I think I got about 20 posts. We are generating revenue here for GotoNet. They want to boot me off, fine. I'm gone.

What leads you to believe SI is considering deleting BR, LWP, and RWET? Are the GWB and Impeach GWB (and several other political threads) under scrutiny?

Why didn't this post show up in my mail box?????? Anyway as to substance, LWP and RWET stay moderated? All boxing takes place on BR? Sounds OK to me ONLY to maintain LWP and RWET forums. Overall, I oppose any kind of censorship as a general principle. My thought is if you don't like what you see you can tune out or not participate but should be able to express your opinion about any matter posted on any of these coffee shop theads. I can stand a bit more control on the stock threads because real business gets done. JMHO. JLA
