Overall, I oppose any kind of censorship as a general principle. My thought is...you... should be able to express your opinion about any matter posted on any of these coffee shop theads. I can stand a bit more control on the stock threads because real business gets done. JMHO.

I assume, then, that I and others whom you had banned from RWE may resume "expressing our opinions about any matter posted."

Thank you!

Why didn't this post show up in my mail box??????
SI is in such fine form lately. <achem> Might you have me on ignore? Someone pm jlallen to make sure he gets this post.

OK to me ONLY to maintain LWP and RWET forums.
Yuppers, and we are both going to have to take flak for adopting this position. I hate the flak. I hate playing police-chick, except for the Aviator shades. I hate censorship, too. That's why I opened what was meant as a designated free speech zone. If someone hadn't reported my "obscenities" thereby upsetting the apple cart, we wouldn't be forced to negotiate.

In the long run I hope it will prove to be for the better. If not, well it wasn't for lack of caring and trying. I think the rules I posted can work. * Later I will try to post all the suggestions people made last night. If your gang wants to add to it in the meantime, I would encourage that. There now, we are working together, and it doesn't hurt much more than a spinal tap.

While we're busy alienating our buddies, I might as well ante up here that I own a handgun, and am biased in favor of the death penalty. Hear the gasps and gotchas? I think that in this atmosphere we may actually find MORE FREEDOM to cross the lines on issues without feeling we are betraying our comrades. The whole divided camp thing is silly. I suspect, for example, that there may well be some Pro-Choicers in your camp, and some Pro-Lifers in ours. Poet suggested that we at some time debate, but by adopting the other side's position. I volunteer to post a position against teaching (ABOUT!!) masturbation in schools, or in favor of the Mandatory Pledge of Allegiance (blech Ptooey) if we can get to that point, and if someone else will plead my case against me.

Also a couple people have posted a list of their positions on a list of issues, and some of those were rather surprising. Those poster deserve extra credibility. We may have more in common than we think. It could actually be fun.

I know it looks like a gun but it's really just a few more ideas up my sleeve. If we can't beat this phase first, it's all moot anyhow.

Looking forward to a more grownup debate,
Yours in radical traitordom,
joelle
