Paul,

They will not add AMD's discombobulated SOON-TO-BE-DEAD SMP 760 DUAL CPU junkola because it will be obsolete before it is even field-tested.

You may be right that the OEM's may not jump on the 760 MP chipset for a lot of reasons, but if it works as advertised, it would make a fine entry level server. As good as majority of current Intel based solutions.

The soon to be dead label can be placed on the entire line of Intel P6 processors, chipsets and motherboards. True, the next generation of AMD CPUs will not use EV6 bus, but the same is true for Intel P6 bus. It has already been superceded by something else.

And while P6 may have another year to 18 months of useful lifetime ahead of itself, AMD EV6 based CPUs have at least half a year of extra life left in them compared to Intel P6, because of better clock speed scaling.
