re: The appeal of digital cameras is the link to the net, easy to share images with friends.

You can do that very easily as well with non digital cameras---just drop your pictures off at the grocery store (or anyplace that develops film) and check the box marked "Kodak Picture Disk", or, if you are on AOL, check the box marked "You've Got Pictures". I don't have a digital camera yet, but I thought the main appeal was that you could preview pictures more easily, look at your pictures instantly and shoot over the top of bad pictures.

Art, I'm an Exacto knife man myself but a "paper cutter" can pay for itself very quickly.

8-1/2x11" photo paper sells for about $.50 a sheet and each sheet cuts down to four 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" sections. If you are really into the process, buy a package of 11 x 17" sheets and cut them down to any size you want!

No darkroom is required.

Wrong again Charlie,

Go to this site and check out both the paper and the ink refill kits. I use both and can vouch for the outstanding quality of the paper and the ink. You are paying far to much because you don't know any better. Use these products and your cost for a 4x7 is reduced to 20 cents for the paper and the ink is less than a nickel. The paper is better than anything you have ever used! Try it!

That brings your cost for 24 prints to $6.00for digital, not to mention no gas spent dropping off the film and picking up the prints and lets not forget the waiting! (instant gratification is here to stay!) How much is a gallon of gas?

Send me half the difference and you are still way ahead. Your welcome.
