Haircuts- I find ponytails on men extremely annoying, and often indicative of personality flaws. But I would never support legislation against pony tails and I would try very hard not to discriminate against someone who had one (even though pony tail wearing men are not a protected class, and sartorial taste is not protected either)

Some reality needs to be introduced into this particular debate. Bland has heard of an individual from the south being terminated from a bank in Connecticut for repeatedly using "ma'am" when addressing an evidently rather too damn touchy female.

I think that Bland makes an important point here. We cannot allow the standard for harassment or discrimination or plain, ordinary insults be set by the thinnest-skinned persons. The standard needs to be reasonable.
