I don't apologize I work in a mixed neighborhood. Some gentrified townhouses and condos. Some low income projects. A subway station. Everyone mixes at the (somewhat seedy) mall. I rub shoulders every day with young black men with their typical dress and carriage. I don't move away from them or grip my purse more tightly when I encounter them. If I did, I would feel like I should apologize. That doesn't mean that you should. I'm just reporting what I do. Karen
